Xolod

The history of the Xolod botanical laboratory

The Xolod brand was founded in Modena out of a desire to revive the tradition of using green walnut hulls, which mass retail often replaces with syrups made from synthetic flavorings and refined sugars. Seeing the steady disappearance of old homemade remedies, we decided to re-establish a rigorous, short-supply-chain production centered on selecting fresh fruit grown in our local area.

Our process relies on slow cold maceration that combines the tender hull with unrefined Italian wildflower honey and botanical extracts of thyme. Each batch is made in small quantities to keep the time between harvesting the fruit and starting preparation to a minimum, preserving the natural volatile compounds.

We reject the shortcuts of industrial chemistry and maintain a direct relationship with our customers: we do not use commercial intermediaries, we pack each bottle by hand with dedicated glass protection, and we take responsibility for every shipment until it reaches your door.

Local raw ingredients

We use only walnuts gathered from orchards in our local area to monitor the crops firsthand. We avoid import brokers and dried fruits to preserve the vitality of the fresh juice.

Transparent formulation

Every component of our recipe is clearly listed on the label without proprietary blends or vague descriptions. We believe transparency regarding origin is the foundation of informed consumption.

Accountability in shipping

We take direct responsibility for every parcel packed, using custom-fitted cardboard packaging to prevent glass breakage. We personally answer for any issue that arises along the way to your door.

Supply chain support and artisanal checks

We select only intact walnuts at the right stage of summer ripeness and inspect the seal of every single bottle before placing it in shock-resistant packaging. This manual check carried out in Modena ensures that customers receive an intact product that meets our herbal standards.
